Glade Elementary has been chosen as theTOP SCHOOL in Jones County School Districtin thePASS THETORCHAttendance Program.  The school with the highest ADA for the month becomes the top school and receives the Top School trophy and bragging rights for the next month.

Good school attendance is important for student success which in turn lowers the dropout rate.  The Jones County School District promotes good attendance throughout the year through competition and incentive programs.

Regular school attendance also improves State Test Scores.  The first day of MAAP testing this week, Glade Elementary had 100% ATTENDANCE!  Way to go, Hornets!  You are awesome!

Congratulations to East Jones Elementary for being the “Top School of the Month” in the district.

EJE had the highest ADA (average daily attendance) for Month 5 of the school year.  They were presented with the “Top School” trophy.

The schools in Jones County compete each month to have the highest number of students in school on a daily basis.  School attendance is the most important factor in student achievement.  Schools encourage students to show up and learn.  They also provide incentives for good attendance.

Accepting the winning trophy are principal, Sylvia Busby, and assistant principal, Gayla Harper.

Schools that reach the 95% Average Daily Attendance (ADA) goal each month receive a certificate and a torch to display. The school with the highest ADA for the month becomes the top school and receives the Top School trophy and bragging rights for the next month.
